Blessed with naturally lengthy lashes, I’ve always avoided fakes and glue in efforts to protect them. Although as a blonde I have always wanted some extra fullness beyond what plumping mascara can do. Recently I have even contemplated eyelash tinting, but decided not to. Along came One Two Cosmetics not so long ago, the ultimate magnetic fake lashes, and I ordered a set immediately.
My husband, Sid and I are off on our babymoon this week! We are headed to Ireland to explore Dublin and the country, and I’m so excited! Life has been a bit hectic lately with work and our new home, which is currently under construction. All exciting things happening in our lives, but we are in much need of some quality time together and R&R. Anyway – one of the most frequent questions I get is my skincare and beauty routine for travel. As a blogger, my routines are always evolving, but I wanted to share my latest finds and holy grail staples that I’ll be bringing with me on this trip. Packing is always such a pain, but the one part I do enjoy is putting together my cosmetic bags!
The holidays are of course my favorite time of year! I love decorating, cooking, cozy nights at home, family time, and shopping for gifts. The holiday season truly warms my heart. Although gift shopping can be overwhelming when your list is long or short. So for those of you in need of gift ideas, here are some of my suggestions as I already started my shopping quite early.
Happy Monday! I had such a nice weekend at home with my husband and puppy, and I made sure to focus on self care. For those of you that follow me on instagram already know what #toweltime means for me, but for those that are new to the concept I wanted to share with you in hopes it can be a great addition to your self care routine. After a nice hot shower, I put on a comfy robe, wrap my hair up in a towel and lounge in bed or on the couch. Right now I’m using the Aquis Lisse Luxe Long Hair Towel. This towel cuts drying time and helps with frizz and breakage. #Toweltime can be for as little as 5 minutes or hours at a time of just relaxation for the mind and body. It is accompanied with face, hair, foot, lip and eye masks, chilled yoga toes, and a hot cup of tea. This is my ultimate me time! Yoga toes are great for relaxing the feet, and helping with balance if you’re a yogi.
Getting ready for the fall & winter seasons is one of my favorite prep times. With the change is seasons comes the change in climate, wardrobe and skincare lineup. Colder weather means less moisture in the air. Below I’m sharing a few tips and tricks by category that I do to stay glowy and moisturized.
Skincare friends – Here are a few tips that are easy on your wallet and will help get you that radiant glow for free!
DAB, DAB, DAB – When working out, washing your face or getting out of the shower – Make sure to DAB rather than wipe your face. I put it in all caps for a reason. I’ll never forget this because my Mother would always tell me to DAB(!) rather than wipe whenever I was cleaning an outfit with club soda or a carpet from a horrible spill. Overtime wiping can stretch the skin, causing reduction in elasticity. We don’t want that!
I am quite #oribeobsessed and am ready to share with you my three favorite styling products right now! OribeRun-Through is great for brushing out those tangles right after showering. Remember to be gentle and have as little left in the brush as possible. The formula also primes the hair for styling. I then use
Often a creature of habit in all aspects of my life, I have a go-to makeup routine. Many have asked about this eye makeup, so I’ve decided to share the colors with you, which create a glowing look for me. With my favorite combination of eyeshadows, I incorporate different accents of eyeliner and mascara depending on the day or night look I’m going for. For example, for a daytime look, I’d probably skip the eyeliner and use a medium thickness mascara. For the lid, I use Kevyn Aucoin’s Loose Shimmer Powder in Rose Quartz
