Postpartum Skincare

Hi all! It has certainly been a while… my world got turned upside, but in the best of ways. I went into labor on moving day into our new house and it has taken me a long time to unpack, get settled and adjust to the beauty that is motherhood. My baby girl is almost a year now, so yes, it took me a LONG time. But what I’ve learned so far is to embrace everything, be gentle and kind to myself, and to take on each challenge with open arms on this beautiful journey as a mom.

I realize a lot of my skincare testing and sharing has not been top of mind but I have not lost my passion for it! With these scary, uncertain times of COVID-19 came many silver linings for me. I’ve gotten to enjoy time at home as a family, time to decorate, cook, plant, and most importantly, time to take a bath, a breath, put on my skincare and enjoy some me-time. I mean #toweltime!

With all the changes in my hormones, my skin has DEFINITELY changed. One week postpartum I felt that I lost the glow, or was it the lack of sleep? haha! But overtime, I realized that some of my everyday products were not giving me the same results as before and I’ve had to make some adjustments to find what would bring me that even tone glow that I strive for each day with my skincare. That being said, I still use all my products from before, but lately have substituted or alternate giving my skin what I think it needs each day. Also, I’m a skincare enthusiast, so always trying new things!

To jump right in, here are my top two evening routines and products I’m using to achieve rejuvenated, even tone, glowing skin postpartum.

The Essentials Trio:

I always say you can’t forget the lips, ever! My all time favorite still is the Lip Care Stick by Dr Hauschka. For those of you seeking some results or need to revamp your routine, I hope these recommendations help you. Most importantly, enhance your self care with some relaxation and #toweltime!

Marta Scarampi

Today I’m excited to announce a partnership with Marta Scarampi, an Italian Luxury manufacturer and designer of women’s Capes, Blazers, Dusters & mix-and-match sets of dresses, pants and blouses!

“Timeless wardrobe solutions for modern professional women.”

I recently attended a baby shower here in Miami for a dear friend and wore their brand new jumpsuit. The stretchy, breathable material doesn’t wrinkle(!), so it’s perfect for travel. This piece also has a zipper in the front! Huge plus for breastfeeding and trips to the lady’s room.

“Endless combinations of capes, blazers & mix-and-match sets: everything you need for daily effortless style and a long lasting wardrobe.”

Getting dressed the past few months has been quite a challenge for me; baby weight, breastfeeding and warm Miami weather. This brand, though not strictly maternity, is maternity-friendly!

Not only that Marta Scarampi makes the clothes in Italy, on demand, for you! After ordering, they construct each garment from scratch. You pick a silhouette, select a color and they’ll get sewing. Head on over to their site and shop the looks! Use code NatalieKatari for 10% off your purchase. Stay tuned for more on how I style their pieces, and my favorite the cape!

Magnetic Lash Innovation!

Blessed with naturally lengthy lashes, I’ve always avoided fakes and glue in efforts to protect them. Although as a blonde I have always wanted some extra fullness beyond what plumping mascara can do. Recently I have even contemplated eyelash tinting, but decided not to. Along came One Two Cosmetics not so long ago, the ultimate magnetic fake lashes, and I ordered a set immediately.

Happy Monday all! One of the most frequently asked questions I get as a beauty and skincare blogger is what I’m using to avoid stretch marks during my pregnancy. Since I’m 22 weeks (2nd trimester), I share what I’ve tested and what products I’m liking most. I do not have any stretch marks currently, but I’ve read and heard that they can occur during and after pregnancy. Postpartum I will report more on any appearance of stretch marks and what products I see results with.

We’re back from Ireland and I’m excited to share my reviews and thoughts on some new products I’ve been trying out. In particular, the Supergoop! SuperScreen Daily Moisturizer with 40 SPF. I’ve always been picky when it comes to my daytime moisturizer. Not only am I looking for soothing and hydrating results, the formula has to be suited for under makeup.

My husband, Sid and I are off on our babymoon this week! We are headed to Ireland to explore Dublin and the country, and I’m so excited! Life has been a bit hectic lately with work and our new home, which is currently under construction. All exciting things happening in our lives, but we are in much need of some quality time together and R&R. Anyway – one of the most frequent questions I get is my skincare and beauty routine for travel. As a blogger, my routines are always evolving, but I wanted to share my latest finds and holy grail staples that I’ll be bringing with me on this trip. Packing is always such a pain, but the one part I do enjoy is putting together my cosmetic bags!

The GENDER REVEAL!

The Gender Reveal is a new phenomenon to me, and I loved the idea! I knew I didn’t want to wait 9 months to know if this little bump was a boy or girl, so a gender reveal was a perfect solution. What I learned from my doctor is that rather than waiting until the anatomy scan at 16/18 weeks, there is a genetic test (non-invasive blood test for me) that now also tells the gender at 10 weeks. The 10 week mark for me was just before the holidays, so I was pretty sure I wouldn’t be hearing until the New Year.

I’m finally 13 weeks and into my second trimester! This has been the hardest secret to keep because I’m so excited to begin this new chapter in life and just wanted to share the excitement immediately. The past 3 months have already been such an incredible journey. My skincare and beauty regimens have, YES, adjusted accordingly to be as safe as possible for the baby. But now that I can openly talk about my pregnancy, I wanted share my first trimester experience and introduce how I’ll be integrating my new role as mommy onto nataliekatari.com!
