2019 Year of Baby Katari, Clean Skin & Clean Beauty

Clean beauty has been a highly researched category of skincare and beauty for years now. I’ve always focused on total self care, and paying attention to my skincare ingredients has been a priority. Now that my big pregnancy secret is out (YAY!), this has also been a motivating factor in my clean self care research and regimens. Lately I’ve been taking a deeper dive and solely using clean brands and products. I wanted to share some of my favorites right now that have helped keep my pregnancy glow going! I hope you enjoy, and if you’re a mother-to-be or breastfeeding, these are some suggested brands and products you should check out, but of course speak to your doctor and do you own research. It’s the smart thing to do for you and your baby!

Caudalie – I have raved about the VinoPerfect serum well before pregnancy. It has been on my HG list for a while. The milky formula is so soothing and I love the glowing results. I always get compliments on my skin when using this product. Now that I’m pregnant and focusing (even more) on clean beauty, this serum is “non-toxic, non-photo sensitizing, cruelty-free, hypoallergenic, and free of all synthetic chemicals, fillers, gluten, and GMOs.” I’m also a huge fan of the Beauty Elixir!

Herbivore Botanicals – I love the luxury of a face oil and applying it to my skin. I’ve been using the PHOENIX Cell Regenerating Facial Oil as my pregnancy safe option, which I follow up with an evening moisturizer or overnight mask. I love going to bed with the extra hydration! I also recently received the new EMERALD Deep Moisture Glow Oil, which I’m excited to try but like all other products I’m going to run the ingredients by my doctor. What I’ve heard and look forward to testing is the very light formula and extra moisture.

Dr. Hauschka – When I think of self care, I like to think about relaxation, results, and ingredients. The Dr. Hauschka brand has been such a savior for me because it’s all organic and natural products. There’s nothing better than a long FAQ section that tells you all about their safe ingredients. I’ve been using the Hydrating Cream Mask which has helped my skin during this dry, winter season, as well as the Revitalizing Mask when my skin needs a pick me up. Afterwards, my skin feels so soothed, relaxed, light and soft. I also have been a long time fan of the Lip Care Stick, which has certainly helped with my dry lips lately.

Dr. Roebuck’s – There are “No Worries” when using this brand. Dr. Roebuck’s formulates without any of the “nasties” like parabens, sulfates, phthalates, silicones, harmful chemicals, fillers, and they are vegan products. I’ve been trying out the No Worries Hydrating Face Moisturizer first as my daily moisturizer and I love the lightweight, fluffy formula. I also love the refreshing fragrance and how the formula seeps into my skin so quickly.

Summer Fridays – One can never have too many face masks – amiright?! I love to double mask like a double cleanse, and often Summer Fridays Jet Lag and Overtime Masks are my solution for #toweltime and nighttime. The Jet Lag Mask is another product that has been on my HG list. As for the ingredients, the Jet Lag and Overtime masks have no parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes and fragrances or animal byproducts. One of the founders was pregnant while formulating the products! #TGISF
